Purpose: To provide quality programming in the areas of character development using the discipline instilled in the martial arts as a catalyst to improve self-control, self-discipline, self-defense and overall physical fitness. Bulldog karate will host programming for the following participants but not limited to only these demographics:
Students identified with ADD, ADHD and mild forms of Autism (IEP required).
Low income families (previous income tax info required W-2/poverty level etc.)
Fighting childhood obesity children fitness kickboxing (medical clearance).
All ADHD, ADD, mild forms of autism & obesity programming include nutritional assistance.
Anti-bully programming (preventing victimization of bullies)
Obesity programming will consist of fitness tracking, body fat % & weight loss.
A direct correlation of improved fitness, behavior and grades will be used to assess each participant. Grade cards, progress reports and referral letters will be kept to track progress.
Students have a study requirement to ensure their academic excellence on and off of the training floor. Tutors oversee a homework hour Monday - Thursday during the school year and host academic lessons during the daily summer camp.
Karate for discipline
Karate is key! This art form teaches discipline, focus, self-control, builds self-esteem & keep the participants fit. The added bonus of learning self-defense and awareness helps to prevent victimization of bullying. These skills are transferrable in the classroom, home and the work place.
Tournaments & Field Trips
Tournament competition, travel and field trips introduces the students to a whole new world. There's more than our neighborhoods and common sports. Karate provides an outlet for team building, developing leadership skills and most of all fun!
